Today’s press release from Apple:
Apple® CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS® X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®; and iCloud®, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering.
I am not a gadget-geek or a tech-junkie or a Mac lover. Yet I am excited to hear what Apple has to offer by way of cloud services, because each of their product entries/modifications in the last decade has made me aware of newer ways of relating to the world of information. I know there will be the Apple-hype, and those who will point out that someone else is doing the same thing better and cheaper; but the sheer design elegance and user-friendliness that underlies all things Apple make me eager to find out more about the iCloud.
While the name is not exactly inspired, they managed to take us past the name iPad – let us see what June 6th brings….
